The Trust is governed by its Directors, who are also Trustees, and their work is overseen by the Members.
Our Chair of Directors is an ex officio Member. We have four further Members, all of whom are independent of the Board of Directors: Councillor Sue Croft, Councillor Simon Phillips, Reverend Tony Rockey and Sharon Marshall EDEN Member Representative. v

I am the Executive Headteacher. We are all proud of Chulmleigh Academy Trust and our family of schools. We are here to work with you so that we, together, promote ambition and inspire all the children in our care.

I joined the Board of Chulmleigh Academy Trust in November 2011 and became Chair of the Board in September 2012. I am now retired from a career in Education and Children Services. While I have not previously been a member of a school Governing Body, my career offered me the opportunity to work with school governing bodies on a range of topics.
I am a member of the Teaching and Learning Committee and the Resources Committee, and my specific responsibilities are for SEN and Health and Safety. My link school for monitoring pupil performance is Chulmleigh Community College.
I aim to bring a positive approach to my contribution to the work of the Trust, and I consider that embracing change is fundamental to ensuring our schools continue to meet the needs of pupils; both in the current context of their lives and preparing them for future challenges and opportunities.

As many of our existing parents will be aware, I taught at Chulmleigh Community College for over thirty years until 2008. During part of that time, I was the staff representative on the governing body and it wasn’t long after my retirement that I returned as a governor for the Chulmleigh Federation.
When Chulmleigh Academy Trust was formed I was appointed as a Foundation Director by the diocese, so I have been involved for several years as a governor or director. Apart from my experience as a teacher, I am a senior examiner for AQA with particular responsibility for Religious Studies.
I am a member of the Resources Committee with the specific responsibility for Facilities.
One of my aims continues to be the provision of suitable facilities for students to have the opportunity to excel and be encouraged to make a positive contribution to society. As a representative of the Church, it is important to me that the Trust continues to maintain a good and caring ethos.

I joined the Trust in November 2012, and I am currently the chair of the Teaching and Learning Committee, and I am the lead director for Academy Improvement.
I was a teacher of English as a Foreign Language before going on to manage a network of 47 language schools, and I have been a governor of Kings Nympton Primary School.
Outside of education I am Managing Director of a large call centre in Exeter where we provide public transport information for the UK (Traveline), and employ over 50 people.
I aim to encourage and support the delivery of an outstanding education across the Trust.

I joined the board of directors in December 2012. My son attends Chulmleigh Community College and I have always been a firm believer in if you are interested in your children's education you should be in a position to have a say.
Previously I was a governor of my son’s primary school for eight years, and chair of that Governing Body for four of them. My link school is East Worlington School and I believe that with the staff we have, we can continue the excellent work in providing an all-round education in all of our schools.
I work for a large supermarket so I feel I can contribute a great deal to the HR and financial side of the academy.
